The name “aglianico” dates back to the Greeks who brought this wine on the Tyrrhenian coasts when they funded
their colonies in centuries VII-VI B. C. That could explain the presence of synonyms of Ellenico, Ellanico, that
changed in Aglianico. The name “RUE DELL’INCHIOSTRO” comes from the name “ Rue” which was attributed
to the streets in Paternopoli during the French domination. The word “ink” defines the characteristic purple that wine.
