The name “aglianico” dates back to the Greeks who brought this wine on the Tyrrhenian coasts when they funded
their colonies in centuries VII-VI B. C. That could explain the presence of synonyms of Ellenico, Ellanico, that
changed in Aglianico. The name “RUE DELL’INCHIOSTRO” comes from the name “ Rue” which was attributed
to the streets in Paternopoli during the French domination. The word “ink” defines the characteristic purple that wine.

FINING First passage in 225 l. French oak barrels for 12 months.
ALCOHOL 13,5 % vol.
FOOD MATCHING White meat, ripe cheese, sauces based dishes, soft cheeses.
SERVING TEMPERATURE 15-18°
CHARACTERISTIC This is the first DOC born in Irpinia. Right ruby red color with notes of spice and “Maiatica” cherries. Taste is appealing.
